Is using Natural Gas to power cars cheaper?

With the high cost of gasoline almost everywhere, people are talking about converting their cars to use Natural gas to power it. The proponents say that it is cheaper to power a car.

Is it truly cheaper to power a vehicle using Natural gas over Gasoline?

Natural gas for cars is the viable alternative to PMS if one is looking to minimize costs. Most people in my country have switched from PMS carburettor to natural gas carburettor.
