According to the report, the Houthis have continued their missile and drone attacks on Israel, citing solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. On May 18, 2025, the Israeli military intercepted another missile launched from Yemen, triggering sirens across parts of Israel. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack, asserting that they had fired two ballistic missiles targeting Ben Gurion Airport.

The latest attack came after Israel, on May 16, said it bombed the Houthi-held Red Sea ports of Hodeidah and Salif in Yemen. The Israeli defence minister also threatened to target the Houthi leadership if strikes against Tel Aviv were to continue.

Meanwhile, the US Navy’s USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, accompanied by two Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers, was spotted 700km northeast of Singapore on May 16, as per a handle on X, citing satellite images obtained through open-source intelligence. Is Trump replacing USS Harry S Truman with nuclear-powered warship USS Nimitz?
