According to the report, Israeli military chief Major-General Herzi Halevi quit citing what he described as his responsibility for “failure” during the Hamas-led attack.

In a statement, Halevi says he is leaving the military after “recognizing my responsibility for the failure of the IDF on October 7.”Until March 6, Halevi said, he will complete the investigations into the October 7 Hamas onslaught and prepare the IDF for future challenges.

He said: “I will transfer command of the IDF in a high-quality and thorough manner to my replacement,” he added.

Why should the prime minister resign? Is he the military watch? Netanyahu will remain prime minister. If the military head resigns, what has the minister to do with it? If they fail, they should resign and the Prime Minister will appoint another and protect the country. It is very impossible for PM Netanyahu to resign. Why should he resign when it was the chief who failed to protect the people of Israel? The Prime Minister can appoint any time successor of the chief.
