Italian Teenager Carlo Acutis Becomes a Saint

Tens of thousands gathered at the Vatican as Pope canonised Carlo Acutis, an Italian teenager who passed away from leukaemia in 2006 at the age of 15. Acutis was recognised for his efforts to promote the Catholic faith online, earning him nicknames such as "God's influencer" and the "cyber apostle."

He is now the first saint from the millennial generation.

The canonisation ceremony was originally scheduled for April, but was postponed following the death of Pope Francis.

The event marks a significant moment for the Catholic Church, highlighting the role of digital media in modern religious life.
