Japan and Philippines sign defense pact

This new defense agreement between Japan and the Philippines is a big deal. What I find most interesting is how countries in the area are joining forces to push back against China. It's really cool how history impacts security now. The speed at which they're working together is pretty surprising. Keeping things stable in the South China Sea is what matters to me the most. I think this agreement could really change things in Asia.
