Jersey returns $9.5m in recovered funds to Nigeria.
More than $9.5 million (£7 million) from “tainted property” held in a Jersey bank account will be returned to the Nigerian government to fund an infrastructure project
His Majesty’s Attorney General for Jersey, Mark Temple KC, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in December to facilitate the repatriation. The agreement builds on two earlier deals between Jersey and Nigeria that recovered over $300 million (£230 million) in misappropriated funds.
