In January, the current President, Joe Biden, will attend the inauguration of Donald Trump, who has been elected as the 47th President of the US. On Monday, the White House stated that this decision reflects a "commitment to our democratic values," in spite of the fact that Donald Trump did not attend President Biden's swearing-in. Donald Trump had falsely claimed that his election win was fraudulent and incited a mob of supporters to storm the U.S. Capitol. According to Andrew Bates, Deputy Press Secretary, President Biden had promised to attend the inauguration of whoever won the election. Both he and the First Lady will honor that commitment. Following the November 5th vote, Biden invited Trump to the White House.
