According to the news, Kenya’s President William Ruto faced tough questions from anti-tax protesters during a debate on the social media platform X. More than 150,000 joined the interaction, which was organized via X Spaces, a feature that allows users to host live audio conversations with others on the platform formerly known as Twitter.
The news added that protesters bombarded Ruto with tough and direct questions, calling him president a liar and accusing him of lacking empathy. Ruto confirmed that the controversial finance bill had indeed been withdrawn, as protesters feared it still might become law after 21 days as it had been passed by parliament.
