According to the report, a massive overnight Russian missile and drone barrage struck Kyiv on 28 August, killing at least 18 people, including four children, and injuring dozens more, Ukraine’s Interior Ministry said. Kyiv’s mayor accused Vladimir Putin of seeking to destroy Ukraine entirely, while leaders across Europe and NATO condemned Moscow’s “terror strategy”. The attack, one of the largest since the war began, drew fresh calls for sanctions, stronger defence aid, and renewed peace talks as Ukrainian officials warned Russia was escalating with no sign of compromise.
