Lagos government to arrest beggars and their children on the roads

The Lagos State Environmental Taskforce Nigeria is out against persons constituting public nuisance across the metropolis on Tuesday, November 17.

The state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who disclosed this on X, said This was an act to eliminate destitute and miscreants causing public nuisance in the areas.

He said 27 persons including 15 minors involved in the unlawful act of street begging in the middle of vehicular traffic hold-ups were apprehended during the operation.

That's good to avoid danger. These beggars might turn criminals. They better be jailed to refrain doing illegal activities.

Good one, but it should not just end with arresting them, something really needs to be done about this or this would be a repeated circle,
