Landslide alerts, dozens missing: Taiwan battles Typhoon Ragasa aftermath

According to the report, Taiwan has been lashed by the outer rim of Super Typhoon Ragasa since Monday. Regions across Taiwan dispatched rescue teams to the eastern, mountainous county of Hualien after a barrier lake burst its banks, killing 14. More than 120 people remain missing. The government estimated the lake contained 91 million tonnes of water, enough to fill about 36,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools. With the mountains saturated by heavy rain, landslides continue to pose a threat, and large parts of eastern Taiwan remain under red alert.
