According to the report, at least 492 people have been killed and more than 1,645 injured in Israeli air strikes on Lebanon yesterday, September 23, 2024, the health ministry says, marking the deadliest day of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict since 2006.
Thousands of families reportedly fled their homes as Israel's military said it hit 1, 300 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the people of Lebanon to get out to avoid harm. The Israeli military also sent texts messages warning the people to move away from buildings where Hezbollah stored their weapons.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah launched more than 200 rockets into Northern Israel according to the military thus provoking more the anger of PM Netanyahu. The US said it was sending fewer additional troops to the Middle East out of abundance of caution. The US President was also working to de-escalate the war to allow the people to return to their homes.
