Running an online forum is not as easy as we imagine, besides online forum owners having to think about sources of income to pay paid to post to their members, be it income from Ads networks, advertising on forum sites, sponsored content, affiliate subscriptions, etc., admins or forum site owners too must apply legal and compliance laws on Information and Electronic Transactions such as: Complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which does not only apply to one country but applies internationally, defamation, spreading fake news, copyright violations, insults and threats against other members, badmouthing religion, ethnicity, race etc. Online forums must also provide Terms and rules, Privacy policy,

In several cases that I encountered, there were often differences of opinion between members who often used dirty words, insulted each other, etc. This is one of the roles of a moderator who must be able to resolve these problems peacefully. A moderator must also give a warning/ban if they encounter copyright violations/plagirism, adult content, etc.

You hit the nail on the head bro. Running a forum is not just about letting people chat, it's like running a digital village. You have to know where the money is coming from and still adhere to all international laws like GDPR and those of your country. If you play without a legal game you can be banned or prosecuted without notice.

Mods are like local police officers they must have a tough spirit and a clear mind. They look at foul language copyright threats and adult content without bias. If you keep the rules clean and mods smart the forum can be a clean place for ideas and hustle. But without that it's like running a club without a bouncer.
