Since early 2015, crypto mining using smartphones has been widely discussed on various personal websites and forums such as Bitcointalk, Cryptotalk, and others. Many smartphone crypto mining apps are offered, including Minergate, Cryptotab Browser, YouHodler, Pi Network, Ecos, Stormgain, Hashshiny, and others.
Not all smartphones can be used for crypto mining; at least a smartphone must have minimum specifications, such as at least 4GB of RAM, an Octacore processor, and a minimum 4,000mAh battery.
Some advantages of mining using a smartphone include easy accessibility, suitability for beginners, and portability. However, disadvantages of mining using a smartphone include very small rewards, the risk of overheating, the presence of many scam crypto mining apps that even request access to your gallery and location, and some mining apps containing viruses and malware.
This is why I never install a mobile mining app. Have you ever mined crypto using a smartphone?
