Residents of Kobi Street near Wunti Gate in Bauchi were shock on Friday morning when the lifeless body of a day-old baby was discovered in a refuse dump in the state

Eyewitnesses said the infant was wrapped in two black leather bags and abandoned behind a local shop. A community leader, Musa Jibrin, said a search was carried out on the body and recounted the harrowing discovery on Friday morning to journalists.

It’s sad to think that the mother may not have wanted the child initially, but what happened to the baby is really heartbreaking. I wish the baby were alive. I believe there is someone out there who would have taken care of the baby.

Yes teenage mothers, especially the single mother, it's possible the father of the child had rejected the pregnancy, hence they felt this was the best thing to do.
