Hi everyone,

I’m searching for a good online version of WordPad that I can use directly in my browser without installing anything. Ideally, it should support basic text formatting like bold, italics, underline, and simple paragraph alignment.

I’d also like it to be lightweight and load quickly, as I just need it for quick notes and small documents. Bonus features like autosave or cloud integration would be great but not essential. Has anyone tried any reliable online WordPad alternatives or similar tools that are free or have a decent free tier?

Thanks!

Hi, I think Google Docs is a pretty good and simple option for what you're looking for. While it's not exactly WordPad, it meets all the requirements: you can use it directly in your browser without installing anything, and it supports bold, italics, underline, and paragraph alignment. It's also very lightweight and loads quite quickly, ideal for quick notes or small documents. Another advantage is that it automatically saves to the cloud, so you don't lose your work. The free version of Google Docs is quite comprehensive and doesn't require any payment, just a Google account. There are other alternatives like Zoho Writer or even the online editor for Microsoft Word, but in my experience, Google Docs is the simplest and most reliable option for your needs.
