From Laoag City, Philippines’ report, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake jolted the province of Ilocos Norte on Tuesday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tectonic earthquake struck 21 km. west of Pasuquin town at 10:38 a.m. It had a depth of 43 km.
There were 10 regions affected by the earthquake. Thankfully, there were no casualties or damage. It took 4 4-minute attacks of the earthquake. There was also no report of a tsunami.
Reported intensity is the traditional way of knowing the intensity based on reports of people who felt the earthquake.
Phivolcs said damage is not expected, but residents are advised to stay alert for aftershocks.
