Managing staff that are competing against the organization?

The spate of disloyal staff is on the increase in the ever capitalist world of today. Some staff display such disloyalty to the point of competing against the organization that they work for.

As a business owner, how do you handle such stuff that are ready to compete against the organization?

We had a staff in the organization that I worked that always pursued her personal interest at work ahead of company interest. She was summarily laid off.

I can never condone a staff that is competing against the organisation that is paying him. I would just fire him.

It's best to lay off such staffs, at the end of the day they might end up causing a negative effect on the business.
