One can not imagine a life without social media in current times... that's what most coming from urban set up would feel. More and more social media platforms have mushroomed in the last few decades and each one has got popular with millions of users. Social media is a powerful tool if used with responsibility. But then not all do that.
It's the recent study that shows that more than 50 percent of social media users would abandon social media platforms totally or at least restrict their time there. Fake news, Toxic user base, misinformation, presence of bots and use of GenAI is killing the user experience...these are few reasons that are behind this. I am posting the link here of the news. My social media time is very limited. I prefer to spend more time on paid to post forums during my free time. How about you?

You have a point here. But even in today's world, I know of people who deliberately stay away from the social media. This helps them stay focused and be productive. Yes, many websites will have login access through FB account. And they do have option of access through Google account too.
I try to stay away from social media as much as possible. I find it a big distraction.

Facebook or Google Authorization doesn't mean compulsory that you focus on the messages received, it is just an authorization and you move on, except if you want to browse notifications you do this remotely. This is my point of view only.

I agree there.
If you read the link that I shared, it talks about the fall in the popularity of social media platforms for the various reasons. People don't find the user experience there as good as it was few years back. Presence of bots and excessive use of GenAI is the reason. People might start limiting their times on social media.

GenAI is like for example, Poe or these bots based on artificial intelligence like Brad or for example, Chat GPT to resume everything. They facilitate our lives.

Yes, they have facilitated lives in many ways. They are technology advancements that help us in many ways. But then at times the overuse of them can be bad. The presence of bots and GenAI has spoilt the user experience for many. Many are not liking it.

Instagram is more important because on Instagram you could generate sales while Facebook are plenty of unrespectable people means it becomes harder to make sales in terms of money, Facebook is just one for friends and one for family.

It depends because I have 6000 friends on Facebook who all support me in my milk tea business.

World has a huge population. Even if a lot would abandon or limit their time on social media, these platforms will have enough business to run a profitable business. I am not a big fan of social media and visit them occasionally. But I can't afford to totally abandon it. I need it from time to time for my professional and personal life.

I don't know if it would happen in other countries, but in my country, people would not abandon social media for any reason. People have come to see social media as a haven to do business, interact and ward off stress.

I don't enjoy spending time on social media because of the negativity/toxicity I've recently encountered. However, I hoped to be a social media manager in the future, so I guess I'll have to start enjoying it again.
