Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 a public holiday to mark Workers’ Day

This year’s theme is ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate, .

The theme is in line with President Tinubu's commitment to providing a conducive environment for work, where every worker can thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development”.

The government has acknowledged the contribution of workers, .and urged them to remain committed to the present administration’ and wishes all workers a happy celebration.

Today is Labor Day in the Philippines, which means it is a public holiday. I think this occasion is also celebrated in other parts of the world.
Yes but we call it here workers day. it serves the same purpose just like in your country

Nigeria workers have not to celebrate. A hungry man is an angry man. Nigeria workers are bleeding because of poor salary and high cost of living. They should concentrate on issue that border con corruption and insecurity. May 1 is still here with us, why celebrating hunger and insecurity.

LoL, you are right but sometimes we just have to forget bad economy and just celebrate life as it is a free gift

A lot of us still went on with our various jobs and businesses, especially we the business owners.
Yeah, generally it is always for those in the government pay roll. Private business owners hardly observed this
