Military strikes conducted by the US in December 2025 killed 155 Lakurawa terrorists in Sokoto, a report by The New Humanitarian has claimed.

The publication also claimed that the attacks left 200 additional Lakurawa fighters missing in the week following the operation.

The strikes, carried out in collaboration with Nigerian authorities, are believed to have involved Tomahawk missiles launched from a US destroyer positioned in the Gulf of Guinea.

The detail about the military attack in Sokoto is indicative of the magnitude of the collaboration between the US and the Nigerian government. In my opinion, the most interesting part is the death of 155 members of the Lakurawa fighters and the disappearance of 200 more in the following week, which clearly establishes that there has been considerable denting of that particular organization. In my opinion, the most interesting part is that the Tomahawk missiles were fired from a destroyer in the Gulf of Guinea, which clearly establishes that considerable preparations have been done.
