According to the report, millions of Shiite Muslims converged in Karbala, Iraq, on Saturday for the annual Arbaeen pilgrimage, commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, news agency Associated Press reported.
The report said that the event, which occurs 40 days after Ashura, marks the end of a mourning period. However, this year's pilgrimage was muted by the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
