Job hunting is most of the time tedious and time consuming. Not to mention the number of applicants sending their interests on the post we also want. May the best candidate win!

This can affect the speed of hiring the right employee if all the candidates have these mistakes:

1. Ensure that your skills are a good match for the job. It's essential that the hiring person sees why you are the right fit for the role.

2. Avoid saying the wrong things during the interview, such as speaking negatively about your previous employer.

3. Punctuality is crucial. Always be on time for interviews; plan for potential travel delays and ensure you are well-prepared.

4. It's important to follow up and ask questions, as failing to do so may indicate to the hiring manager that you lack interest in the position.

5. Research the company before your interview. Study the job description and check company details.

The applicant should make sure that the skills are aligned to the company's description. Or else he will have a slim chance of being hired. Researching the company is as important as doing his own homework.
Sometimes, the applicants apply using the unsolicited type with an assumption of a possible hiring. As much as possible the applicant must inquire if there's job hiring to avoid wasting time and energy.

I believe in taking the interview but not in following up as that would indicate desperation which the company can use negatively.
