According to the report, the mother and father were convicted of stabbing two of their children to death, then confining their younger kids to their rooms without food for days.
The report said that Maurice Taylor, 39, and Natalie Brothwell, 49, first appeared on police radar in 2020 when a potential gas leak was reported at their residence. Investigators also learned that Taylor's personal training clients had not heard from him for an extended amount of time, so they called the police to find out what happened to Taylor.
The report also stated that upon the arrival of the police in Taylor's home, detectives discovered the bodies of 13-year-old Maliaka Taylor and 12-year-old Maurice Taylor Jr., decapitated in two different bedrooms.
In addition to the report, the police also discovered the other kids locked in the other room with no food to eat for many days. They were badly starved and in severe conditions.
Taylor Sr. and Brothwell pleaded not guilty to child abuse and the murder of their kids. A jury found the pair guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of child abuse on November 18. Authorities did not release an update regarding the two surviving children.
