According to the report, officials are not definitively stating what led to the death of a 28-year-old mother whose heart was allegedly removed from her chest cavity.
The report from the New York Post reported that Beth Martin reported feeling ill during her flight from the UK to Turkey, initially attributing it to food poisoning. However, her condition worsened upon arrival in Istanbul, and she was hospitalized after becoming "delirious." She died the following day.
The report stated that Luke, Beth's husband, expressed frustration with Turkish officials, claiming they were not forthcoming and initially suspected him of poisoning her. He managed to have her body returned to the UK, where British coroners informed him that Beth's heart had been removed
In addition, the Turkish Ministry of Health stated that Beth's cause of death was "cardiac arrest due to multiple organ failure," without elaborating on the underlying cause. The Turkish government disputed the British coroners' findings, asserting that she "did not undergo any surgical procedures" during a preliminary autopsy at the hospital where she died.
Beth's family is questioning the cause of death of their daughter and why her heart was removed. The cause will be known after 6 months.
