Mother accused of cutting daughter's throat, putting trash bag on head acquitted of murder

According to the report, a Texas woman accused of killing her 5-year-old daughter has been found not guilty by reason of insanity. Melissa Towne allegedly confessed to cutting her daughter Nichole Bradshaw-Towne's throat and suffocating her with a trash bag.

Prosecutors said Towne slit Nichole's throat and, upon realizing her daughter was still alive, wrapped the child's head in a garbage bag for 30-40 minutes, suffocating her. According to a report from The Associated Press, Towne then drove to the hospital with the plastic bag still around Nichole's head, where an ER nurse found the girl inside a laundry mesh bag on the floorboard of the passenger side of Towne's SUV.

The report also stated that Towne was accused of strangling her daughter for 30 to 45 minutes. But authorities learned that the mother has a history of schizophrenia and had been institutionalized at least nine times. The child as alive and the mom was acquitted but deprived of right to take care of the child.

Indeed, almost every day, we hear news of this kind of murder. It is worrisome. It seems some parents don't deserve to have children.

I sincerely feel for Nichole Bradshaw-Towne for having to suffer such gruesome death. May she rest in peace.

The baby died from suffocation. May that killer mom rot in prison.
