According to the report, Motorola Solutions has teamed up with Nokia to create a new container-based tactical communications network for UK forces and other defense agencies.
The report stated that the system merges Motorola’s Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) solutions with Nokia’s AirScale 5G technology, aiming to provide flexible, rapidly deployable comms. The setup can reportedly become operational in under 30 minutes.
The report added that at the heart of the network is Motorola’s Silvus MANET tech, which extends coverage across rugged terrain and enables AI-powered links between units, including uncrewed systems equipped with long-range video sensors.
In addition, Motorola UK and Ireland Country Manager Fergus Mayne said that with Nokia, they’re providing defense forces with powerful, next-generation communications to help bring critical information to the front lines. He also said that this innovative communications solution builds on their global footprint in mission-critical land mobile radio and previous containerized network solutions to address the dynamic and evolving needs of modern defense operations.
