On recent news, the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has issued a four-week ultimatum to the Federal Government to fully implement outstanding agreements on salaries, allowances and welfare, even as it extended the suspension of its Total Indefinite Comprehensive Strike. Instead of the federal government to settle things at home, they would rather travel out of the country for their treatments.

NARD issue exhausting because doctors are demanding their share while the elders are rushing to get treatment. Feel leaders roaming around in London and Paris while in our town the hospitals have no medicine or equipment. government has to step up so that the lives of citizens are safe and health services are improved in other ways.

Ultimatums like this usually mean talks have stalled again. When agreements sit unpaid for years, strikes become leverage, not choice. I worked briefly around hospital admin and morale drops fast when salaries and allowances are uncertain. Long term, this pushes more doctors out and weakens the system even more. Same pattern, different year.

Most government officials are ruthless. They abuse their power and trample people's right to claim their rights as citizens. Denying of a salary and other essential things could trigger the citizens to fight the government through protest or strike.
