The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is now preparing 1,800 soldiers to deter future Russian invasion and prevent the Kremlin from crossing the borders of alliances. These 1,800 troops in Estonia are positioned close to the border with Russia. 700 are coming from France. The drill, known as "Pikne," incorporates troops, airmen, and sailors and will last until the 15th of December. According to 20 Minutes, the goal is to test alliance resistance and give Estonia enough time to equip its reservists as NATO prepares to supply reinforcements. According to General Indrek Sirel, the Estonian Army's commander, this exercise is "an unclassified version of our real war plan."
