According to the report, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested a man who allegedly threatened to bomb the Commission on Elections (Comelec) central office. In a post-operation report, the NBI Central Visayas Regional Office (CEVRO) said Gian Carlo Dela Cruz Maningo was arrested on May 14 at a house inside Casili Hills, Casili, Mandaue City.
On May 13, NBI CEVRO regional director Rennan Oliva received a call from Justice Undersecretary Nicolas Ty on the alleged threatening posts of a certain "Gi Maningo." Comelec-7 regional director Francisco Pobe also requested an investigation into the said account.
The Facebook account was reportedly commenting on various online groups offering a reward to anyone who can plant and detonate a bomb in the Comelec central office for PHP5 million. The suspect did not resist arrest and is now detained in Cebu City jail.
