NDMC to Convert All Street Lights to Smart LEDs by June 2026
New Delhi,December 26, 2025: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) passed a proposal to replace all conventional street lights in its jurisdiction with smart LED lights by June 2026. The new lights will be connected to a central management system that allows remote dimming/brightening based on time and movement, leading to an estimated 70% energy saving. The project, costing ₹85 crore, will cover Lutyens' Delhi and surrounding areas.
