A neighbor who is young mother is allegedly hacking the wifi network, (with the help of her husband, relatives) to steal data and make fake claims which a large number of people are believing, in a case of criminal defamation. What is the best way to end the wifi network hacking?

How did they gain access to the WiFi network. I thought the security of internet hotspots are fairly secure?
