According to the report, Hamas appointed the group's Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar as the new politburo chief of the Palestinian militant group following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last week.

The report said that Sinwar is one of the masterminds of the October 7 attacks on Israel and is based out of the Gaza strip.
