Newborn baby's body found in hospital bathroom after mum 'didn't realise she was pregnant'
The body of a newborn baby was found abandoned in a hospital toilet in southern Gran Canaria, Spain, shocking staff and authorities.
The National Police have arrested a 31-year-old woman in connection with the incident, which is now under active investigation.
The discovery occurred at the San Roque Meloneras Hospital, located in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, on Sunday morning, Jan. 4.
A hospital staff member found the lifeless infant in one of the toilets at around 9.20am.
According to reports, the body was wrapped in paper, covered in blood, and left on the premises.
