it is all joy for Emmanuel Ihejirika, a Nigerian who was previously sentenced to death in Indonesia for drug trafficking, been released after several years in prison. His freedom was announced by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission on Friday, September 13.

Ihejirika’s release was achieved through the pro bono efforts of Emmanuel Isha Ogebe, a Nigerian lawyer based in Washington, D.C.

He was lucky. Indonesia is a very strict country when drug trafficking is the crime. I hope he learned a lesson of his bad action. He must feel remorseful for life is kind to him despite his bad deeds.
