History has been made as Nigeria's Chidinma Adetshina, made history by emerging as the first runner-up at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant held in Mexico City, Mexico on Saturday, November 16, 2024.


Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, was crowned the 2024 Miss Universe.

She triumphed over 124 contestants from around the globe to win the title and will succeed Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, the 2023 Miss Universe.

The competition started with a record-breaking 125 entrants and saw an increase in the number of semifinalists from 20 to 30. After the swimsuit parade, the group was narrowed to 12, who then advanced to the evening gown segment, where the final five contestants were selected.

The finalists were from Nigeria, Denmark, Thailand, Mexico, and Venezuela.
