According to the report, South Korea’s military said that North Korea, led by Kim Jong Un, launched multiple short-range ballistic missiles off its east coast, the first launch in over two months.
The report said that Seoul's military suggested the launch was likely in response to joint US-South Korea military drills and could also be a test for Russian experts. North Korea's previous missile test was on July 1.
Japan reported that at least two ballistic missiles from North Korea appeared to have landed outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.
