According to the report, Police are piecing together why a man drove across the country with an assault rifle and shot five people, including an NYPD officer, in Midtown Manhattan. Authorities said the alleged gunman, identified as Shane Tamura of Las Vegas, Nevada, fatally shot himself after carrying out the deadly attack. Here's what we know about him. According to NYPD Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, Tamura drove from Nevada to New York City and entered New York the day of the shooting. Tisch said he has a history of mental illness and acted alone, though investigators aren't sure why he targeted the 345 Park Avenue office building. Tisch also said Tamura traveled cross-country in recent days.

If he has mental health issues, why is it that he can carry a gun and know how to shoot?

Every unfortunate and sad end to life of beautiful people! United States government should tighten the law of arm possession and make sure a mental unstable person should not handle arm. The number of people killed during unnecessary shooting is too many . This evil suppose to be dressed.

The criminal left his home in Nevada just to do killing in NYC. If he has mental issues, why is that he was allowed to travel. Why is it that while traveling, he was not captured for bringing a firearm? The police authorities might have been so relaxed. I pity the police who was among the fatalities. He was too young to die at 36, leaving his two kids and wife. It's so sorrowful for both family sides.
