Operation to liberate two settlements in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region - Ukrainian flag is hoisted

According to the report, video footage has been released on social media, showing Ukrainian troops advancing in newly-liberated territories in Ukraine’s south-eastern Zaporizhzhia region. The settlement of Mali Shcherbaky and part of the Stepove settlement have been recaptured in an operation carried out jointly by the fighters of the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment and the “Aidar” 24th Separate Assault Battalion in the southern part of the frontline.

The video shows the “Aidar” battalion announcing the liberation of the settlement of Mali Shcherbaky and a Ukrainian soldier hoisting the Ukrainian flag in the area. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has confirmed the liberation of the territory, stating that Ukrainian troops advanced 3.5 kilometers inland, inflicting heavy losses on the Russian army and capturing several prisoners. In his overnight address on Sunday, Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that Ukrainian troops were continuing counteroffensive operations near Dobropillia in the country’s Donetsk region.
