The Organised Labour on Tuesday, May 28, walked out of the Tripartite Committee meeting on Minimum Wage. This happen after the Federal Government increased its offer of minimum wage previously offered 57,000 to N60,000.

The Federal Government had initially proposed N57,000 minimum wage but added N3,000 to make it N60,000 during the tripartite committee meeting on minimum wage in Abuja.

Organised labour which has both the Trade Union Congress and the Nigeria Labour Congress wants N497,000 as the country's minimum wag

The amount proposed by the government did not go down well with labour leaders so they walked out of the meeting.

497,000 is really not a bad amount, at least it would be enough to sort out a lot of things. But will the government be willing to this amount?
Hehe, the government would never agree to such an amount. Even the economy would be in ruins with such payment there will be hyper inflation

That amount is just less than $40. Ans they are expecting the citizens to accept that. It is terrible.
It Is just terrible and up till now it is from one deliberation to another. They are still yet to say anything tangible

If Nigeria government pays that amount, the value of naira will depreciate further. And the level of inflation can not be contained by the government. 400,000 naira for minimum wage is too much! Though it may be their asking price!

That's right with such minimum wage we would be dealing with galloping or hyper inflation. it would not be funny at all

Most governments in the African region are good at planning but poor implementers for that matter.
More like they do more talking than delivering on anything. A lot of them are just corrupt people that just want money and fame.
