Adolescence star Owen Cooper continued his record-breaking run of awards success, as well as his co-stars Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty as the Netflix drama cleaned up at Sunday’s awards


Owen, 16, left his proud dad Andy teary as he scooped the Supporting Actor gong at the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday.

In the midst of studying for his GCSEs, the young star has been gracing red carpets to accept a string of honours for his role in the hard-hitting Netflix drama

Owen Cooper's Golden Globe success is really inspiring, showing how young talent can shine even on such demanding stages. The most interesting thing for me is that, while only 16 years old, he received international recognition in the time spent earning his GCSEs-a reflection of discipline and passion. Personally, I think that the emotional reaction of his father after receiving the Best Supporting Actor award adds a human touch which resonates with all of us following these stories. Curiously enough, not only Owen but also other protagonists of the series Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty contributed to a collective triumph that reestablished Adolescence as one of Netflix's most outstanding productions. The most important thing for me is that these types of achievements are indicative of how a series is able to affect both critics and audiences so much. In conclusion, I believe Owen is setting records.
