P5-M ‘shabu’ seized in Marawi City, Philippines

From the Cotabato City, Philippines’ report, Police authorities in Marawi City arrested a big-time drug peddler on Friday afternoon and seized from him suspected shabu valued at PHP5 million, police said.

According to Col. Caezar Cabuhat, Lanao del Sur police director, the suspect was identified only as "Bolkie," from Marantao, Lanao del Sur.

The report said that a police undercover agent was able to convince the suspect to sell him several sachets of shabu, which eventually led to the suspect’s arrest. The Marawi City police operatives, backed by the police’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU), carried out the entrapment operation in Barangay Basak Malutlut, Marawi City, at 5 p.m. Friday.

The report added that the Police are working to identify the suspect's network and his cohorts in illegal drug activities.

In addition, the suspect, currently detained at the Marawi City police detention facility, is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.
