Yesterday, Thursday (July 17, 2025), Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), met with El Salvador's President, Nayib Bukele, in San Salvador. The meeting aimed to explore collaboration opportunities in Bitcoin adoption.
Saqib expressed his admiration for Nayib Bukele, a highly visionary president who saw Bitcoin's progress before it reached its current peak. Bukele remained steadfast in his stance despite considerable skepticism and criticism from various parties, including the IMF. According to the latest data from the Arkham Intelligence platform, El Salvador currently holds over 6,240 BTC.
Saqib considers El Salvador a country that has successfully adopted Bitcoin, and he intends to emulate it and implement it in Pakistan. The meeting between Saqib and Bukele resulted in a Letter of Intent. Furthermore, Pakistan has appointed Changpeng Zhao (founder of Bitcoin) as an advisor and is collaborating with President Trump's (US) WLFI project. To accelerate Bitcoin adoption, the Pakistani government will utilize surplus electricity to mine crypto.
