Paying different staff at the same level different salaries- Fair or Not?

I still remember back in my days as an employee, my boss paid me higher than my other colleagues who were at the same level with me. That's because I put more efforts and achieved better results than the other staff.

Do you think bosses should pay staff at the same level different salaries?

Every boss will have policies and considerations to give bonuses to their employees even though they have the same level by considering the diligence, speed of work, discipline, even though the salary is the same but often the bonus is different, so the amount of money received by employees when they get paid will be different.

There is an advantage or potential the one getting higher pay brings to the company that the other doesn't.

I think it is all about the ability for a staff to negotiate. That greatly determines pay package they get.

It all depends on the business owner, i doubt any business owner would pay someone more when they do not bring equal value to the company.

If the staff has better skills it's fine, otherwise it's wrong. Incentives can be given for better performance.
