According to the report, the Philippines kicked off its campaign at the 3rd Asian Youth Games on a high note after Kram Airam Carpio triumphed in the pencak silat girls' 51–55 kg division at the Exhibition World Bahrain in Manama.

The report also stated that the native of Sta. Cruz, Laguna drubbed Qiken Dwi Tata Olifia of Indonesia, 33-19, in the championship round on Monday. On her way to the final, she defeated Nazaninfatemeh Kolasan of Iran (36-22) and Sakshi Thakur of India (83-17).

Meanwhile, representatives from boxing, taekwondo, mixed martial arts, muay, and track and field arrived Tuesday in time for the opening ceremony on Wednesday night. Taekwondo produced one of two Philippine gold medals in the last staging of the event in 2013, courtesy of Pauline Lopez.

The report also stated that the Philippine team has 16 athletes, followed by muay with 12, athletics with eight, boxing with six, and mixed martial arts with five. They joined the advanced Philippine delegation, which included volleyball, teqball, pencak silat, kurash, and golf.

Arriving in the next few days are athletes from triathlon, cycling, weightlifting, table tennis, badminton, wrestling, swimming and jiu-jitsu.

What a proud moment for the Philippines 🇵🇭✨. Kram Airam Carpio's triumph at the 3rd Asian Youth Games is a testament to the talent and dedication of the country's young athletes. Winning in the 51–55 kg pencak silat category is no small feat, especially beating such strong competitors as those from Indonesia, Iran, and India.
What's most interesting is that this victory comes just as the rest of the Philippine delegation is beginning their participation in other sports, which undoubtedly motivates the entire national team. I love seeing how the country is diversifying its sports presence: from taekwondo and boxing to disciplines like muay thai, athletics, and mixed martial arts.

These young delegates brought fame and glory to the country, being the first time gold medalists overwhelming. As you see in the photo, one athlete is a Muslim. There is no discrimination in our country as long as legally born, whether he or she is a Muslim. What is important is, they are also humans and legally born in the Philippines.
