People that have not overcome impulse spending should not live close to a mall for the sake of their finance. Do you think so?

One of my friends says that she is a shopping freak, and can't live close to a shopping mall, else she would spend all her money.

Do you think that someone that is still struggling with impulse spending should not live close to a shopping mall for the sake of their financial growth?

I don't think that the presence of a mall around me can push me into impulse spending. Certainly, not me. I would walk pass the mall for months and never branch.
