Personal experience affects writers perspective

I had read somewhere that the personal experience of a writer will affect his perspective and the content he or she creates. The content generated by a person who had a privileged life will be very different from a person who has faced discrimination, human rights abuses. Do you agree?

Yes this is true and completely normal, this is also why most writers go out or travel to different places when writing. This is to get other points of view.
