According to the report, the Philippine Army (PA) will be developing more potent drone capabilities to help in its mission to secure the country, its spokesperson said on Friday.
The report stated that part of Ph army plan is to develop the PA's drone capability, doctrine, and training. And these new capabilities would be used for recon and combat.
The report said that Recon refers to reconnaissance or surveillance, while armed refers to drones with the capability to attack military targets, without revealing the exact type of platforms it has in its inventory. Dema-ala said their existing drones are only good for a limited reconnaissance capability.
Additionally, the military use of drones was highlighted following the continued use of the platforms in the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war by the two opposing sides, with varying effects.
