According to the report, Former Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte has been re-elected as mayor of the city of Davao, the family’s stronghold, despite being imprisoned thousands of miles away in The Hague for alleged crimes against humanity. With more than 60% of returns in, Duterte, 80, had an insurmountable lead of 405,000 votes – far ahead of his nearest competitor, who trailed on 49,000, according to unofficial results from the election commission published by local media.

Yehey, our beloved former Philippine President Duterte won as the city mayor in Davao City with a landslide vote in the recent election that was held on May 12.
My warmest congratulations, Tatay Digs, hoping you will get back to Davao city soon.

How is it possible? In most constitution, an inmate have no right to vote and voted for except if such law is not applicable in Phillipine. Well, if he wins from prison, his opponent can challenge that in court that an inmate is not eligible to contest for elective position.

It's Philippines and President Duterte is not yet convicted. The first hearing in Hague isn't yet done it will be in September. His son is the newly elected Vice Mayor in Davao city and he'll be responsible for the tasks while Mayor Duterte is stil detained. Duterte was the Mayor of Davao for 20 years before he became the Ph President. He's a very good President.
