Philippines To 'Protect Ships' With Typhon Missile System, China Slams 'Outsider' US For Tensions

According to the report, the Philippines says it plans to acquire the US Typhon missile system to “protect floating assets,” prompting warnings from China of a regional "arms race."

The report said that , the US Army kept the mid-range missile system in the northern Philippines after deploying it there earlier this year for annual joint military exercises. Philippine Army chief Lieutenant-General Roy Galido said the Typhon’s “feasibility and functionality” fits in “our concept of archipelagic defence implementation".

The report added that Bejing said Manila was enabling "outsider" US to fuel regional tensions with the "provocative and dangerous move" of acquiring the Typhon. Chinese forces have engaged in escalating confrontations in recent months with the Philippines over disputed reefs and waters in the South China Sea.

What the heck is provocative and dangerous move that China is saying. The Philippines has every rights to defend, acquire weapons, and allies itself to any nation it wants. China has no right to slam the decision of the Philippines. They have their own territory and they should not get involved with the West Philippine Sea. Were are not the ones provoking the Chinese , we are only defending our exclusive economic zone..
